Rise Up to Bow Down

 

Rise up, in order to bow down to God.

Give up, in order to win everything.

Surrender your life, in order to gain.

You can lead others by choosing to serve.

If your concern is to care for yourself,

Then truly you will be lost in despair.

But, forgetting self, and looking to God

Will result in finding your true “self.”

God Loves Me

 I’ve taken the wrong turn, and I have sinned,

But God still loves me.

I’ve erred, and have done evil by this sin.

But God died for me.

I am as death, doomed. I’ve been immoral,

But still, God loves me.

He knows my story; my sin, my shame.

God’s love continues.

Each deed I tried to hide, He brings to light

Because He loves me.

There’s nothing I have done, or I can do

That He’ll not forgive!

Seek to Praise

Expecting others to follow your rules

Breeds habits of watching, that you may find

Another doing what you proclaim wrong.

Being called “Christian,” you need to live life

A though you believe in what Jesus taught;

Not looking for reasons to criticize,

But seeking ways to praise others.

We’ve been called to be set apart for God,

We’re called to show from the heart, not the law.

We’re not alone, the Lord lies within each.

Believing in Jesus Christ as Savior,

We are containers, holding God’s presence.]

Live by God’s ways, so others may see Him

Therefore, seek ways to praise others.

At Home with God

Slip into the center

Where your soul is at rest

Beyond the strain

To peace and joy,

At home,

            With God.

To Go Beyond

God moves as the river,

Swiftly or as slowly

Gathering in,

Pushing us out

To go beyond ourselves.

Actively, he sought me.

Rescued from deepest sin,

I’m gathered in,

Empowered by Love,

To go beyond myself.

FAITH

God’s promise depends on faith

And rests in Grace.

I need not understand this,

But must believe.

Details are less important

Than fact of transformation

My faith is strong

When I actively trust God.

God’s promise is given to us

As a free gift.

He’ll be with you in troubles.

“Faith” is the key!

God promises us He’ll answer

Whenever we call on Him.

Our faith is shown

When we actively trust God.

And Share My Faith

Help me to show how much I love,

Help me show my heart,

That you may see what I believe,

And share my faith through action.

May my “good deeds” then prove my love,

Bearing fruit for God.

May what I do reveal my heart,

And share my faith through action.

In and For

“Praise your God in all circumstances.”

I can do that.

But give Him praises for everything?

Now that is hard!

Oh, I can easily give You praise

In everything,

But, Lord, to praise You for it all

Is much harder!

In everything, I’ll give You my praise,

And, Lord, I’ll try

To praise You for my diabetes,

And for all else.

For This Delights Him

Our “feelings,” or our perception

Have naught to do with God’s Presence.

He’s ready to guide us to Truth,

For this delights Him.

When you think He’s too far to hear,

Just whisper His name, He’ll be there.

Open yourself to His Presence,

 For this delights Him.
